INTRODUCTION TO 7^th CHINA INTERNATIONAL MACHINERY & ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS EXPOSITION

The 7th CHINA INTERNATIONAL MACHINERY AND ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS EXPOSITION (referred to as “CWME”) was held in Wuhan, China on 23~26 September 200. “CWME” was an international and professional exposition with governmental support, approved by the State Council, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanxi Provincial People’s Government, Hunan Provincial People’s Government, Hubei Provincial People’s Government, undertaken by Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, and jointly supported by China Machinery Industry Union, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products and China Export-import Bank. Since 2000 CWME has been crowned with success for the past six sessions.

CWME is a exposition integrating trade talk, investment and cooperation, transnational sourcing and seminar, committing to exhibition of advanced machinery and electronic products, new high-tech promotion, machinery and electronic product export and investment promotion, which attracted about one thousand manufacturers from 50 more countries and regions, and 2,000 more machinery and electronic enterprises in China and 200 more thousand professional visitors in Wuhan for business negotiation and sharing of opportunities and achievement in trade and investment in the past six years. The 6th “CWME” attracted 487 exhibitors including more than 160 from abroad and 2,400 overseas professional businessmen and investors from 41 countries and regions, 62 corporations exhibited were amongst “Fortune 500”. The Assistant Secretary-General of United Unions first came to the City of Wuhan to hold UN Sourcing Demonstration Conference in Central China together with six UN institutions.

With the implementation of Central China emerging strategy of Chinese Government, worldwide eyes are focusing on Central China, and businessmen at home and abroad are paying more attention to Wuhan, a hot land with geographic advantage located in Central China. We made every effort to seize such a golden historical opportunity to expedite development and innovation with firm determination, turning “CWME” into a center for promoting development of machinery and electronic industry as well as export and import of machinery and electronic product of Central and Western China, a platform for introducing international capital to China and coastal industry to inland, and a key bridge for connecting six provinces in Central China with international community and communicating with each other.
